Experienced instructor
Gary Sweet is a 38 year law enforcement officer and a 25 year homicide investigator. Gary has worked on over 250 homicide cases in his many years of service. He has taught and trained many new investigators over the years. He has been the homicide and use of force instructor for the Garland police academy for over 20 years.

Training
The classes are designed for Detectives, supervisors, patrol officers, or anyone involved in a homicide investigation. Each class will take you from when the case is assigned, all the way to the courtroom testimony.
CASE CLASS
The Basic Homicide/Cold Case class will cover various aspects of investigating homicide cases. From collecting evidence to interviewing to apprehending suspects, you will be trained and assessed in different areas. This will help you enhance your repertoire.
INVESTIGATION
Many cases grow cold for various reasons, you will be taught the latest technology and learn ways to help investigate these cases.
Instructor Bio
Gary Sweet retired from the Garland (TX) Police Department with over 38 years service. The last 25 years, he worked in the Crimes Against Persons Unit, where he investigated homicides and cold cases. During his long tenure in the CAP Unit, Gary trained many detectives in homicide and cold case investigations. Additionally, he was the primary departmental instructor for homicide investigation and use of force in the Garland Police Academy for 25 years. A well know instructor, Gary has been the featured speaker in many national and state conferences. Several of Gary’s cases have been featured on true crime television shows such as; Snapped, Fatal Attraction, Diabolical, Most Evil, and Pandora’s Box. His work on the child serial killer case of David Elliot Penton is featured in the book “Bogeyman” by Steve Jackson.
